Vegan Uggs and Paw Balm

I’m gearing up for dog walking in the winter. This is no easy task. Just thinking about the looming snow, salt, and freezing cold weather, is enough to make me want to quit walking forever and move to Mexico. Last year I wore my brothers Canada Goose jacket while he was sunbathing in Thailand. He’s back now and it’s time to relinquish it. I can attest to the fact that the coat kept me really warm, but sadly, these amazing coats are not vegan- the hood is made of coyote fur. Finding vegan gear is often a chore. Those warm UGGS that everyone wears in this city are definitely not vegan (and not really attractive either!). But function over fashion, they do look like the kind of thing you want to be wearing when having to face the elements. Of course, I wouldn’t wearing them for the group walks but definitely for those early morning ‘business’ walks with my guys. Upon some searching I did find a pair of vegan Uggs at http://www.alternativeoutfitters.com which I will try.
The winter is also hard on our four-legged friends and getting my dogs proper gear is also no easy task. The salt on the sidewalk burns their paws and even the warmest coats seem to let the cold in, especially for Tyson. My friend Jillian makes this awesome paw balm that seems to work well. Now if only I could find Canada Goose snow suit for Tyson…minus the coyote fur collar.
