When Reactivity Hurts

When Reactivity Hurts

Lately I’ve seen a lot of reactive dogs on-leash. It makes me want to shout out, “hey I can help.” It also makes me feel kinda smug as Tyson, D and I calmly walk pass another dog who is frantically barking and lunging while their owner yells NOOOO. But yesterday, something happened that made me feel really sorry for people going through this. My husband joined us for the late night pee and poo walk. We passed a dog who started reacting towards us. As the owner attempted to discipline him, he accidentally punched his wife in the face with his elbow. OUCH! Of course I didn’t see any of this as I did not take my eyes off Tys and D. Hubby told me after. Reactivity can be so frustrating but it is NOT hard to solve. FEISTY FIDO – help for your leash aggressive dog, is an excellent book and a great place to start.
